I have been writing since my college years on various themes and topics related to current social scenario- arts, culture, gender, politics, social change, etc. I completed my graduation in 2000 and started working with NDTV as reporter for Good Morning India. I interviewed, researched and produced several programmes on fitness and health, lifestyle, Delhi campus life, fashion and entertainment. Thereafter I moved to news production as Production Assistant and Weather Anchor where I assisted the Producer in managing news bulletins and special programmes. I researched and reported on weather, pollution and related environmental issues attending press conferences by Minister of Science and Technology, Kapil Sibal. I also collated bureau reports from bureaus across the nation and did voiceovers for various news reports.
I went back to academics in 2007 for a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from Cardiff University. After a brief stint with Media Management at the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010, I began teaching at Jagran Institute of Management & Mass Communication in Kanpur. Since 2011 I have taught at Jagran Institute in Kanpur and Noida. Meanwhile I enrolled at Indira Gandhi National Open University for a Ph. D. and have been awarded the degree in 2017. The topic of my research was 'Media Coverage of Elections and Voting Behaviour'.
I plan to further research on election reforms, social media and politics and related issues.
